Awareness Meet For Discoms Officials Held

Visakhapatnam: International Copper Association India (ICAI), in collaboration with the Indian Transformer Manufacturers Association (ITMA), on Friday organised a seminar-cum-workshop at the APEPDCL Corporate Office here.

The event, supported by prominent central authorities including the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), as well as local DISCOMs of Andhra Pradesh, aimed to offer valuable insights to executives of distribution companies and DT repair units.

The workshop was inaugurated SC Kolla, Group CEO of Shirdi Sai Electricals and member of ITMA, Manas Kundu, Advisor for Energy Regulatory Affairs at ICA India, V Vijaya Lalitha, Director (Operations) & Chief General Manager (O&CS) of APEPDCL, and Chairman & Man-aging Director of APEPDCL Kolla were present.

Recognising transformers as the key asset in the distribution network, this workshop focused on sensitising engineers from DISCOMs and sharing knowledge about the best practices in areas of operation, maintenance, testing, and repairing of DTs. The workshop also highlighted that APEPDCL has been adopting 5-star-rated distribution transformers since 2010 and is currently managing a network of 1.8 lakh DTs serving the region.

Regular line inspections are conducted every Tuesday, with maintenance carried out on Fridays, to ensure system reliability.
